We handcraft these harps in our workshop in Woodchester out of high-quality FSC Sycamore or local Ash timber and layered Birch. Now on it’s 4th generation (see our ex-hire harps to view old models), it has a bright, lively tone and a beautiful gloss finish, and it is the result of over 8 years and 250 harps’ worth of experience and improvement.
We try to make our harps from as many locally sourced materials as possible. As such your harp may be made from FSC Sycamore or locally sourced Ash, which ever is available at the time. Because of this the grain in the woods may vary as will the appearance of each harp. Rest assured, they all continue to look and sound beautiful.
The soundboard is made from aircraft birch plywood, so-called because of its use in aeroplanes due to it’s very high strength to weight ratio. This means that 3mm of wood can bear a high string tension, which in turn makes the notes ring beautifully. A thinner soundboard resonates better with the strings.
If you’ve bought an unlevered harp and want us to put levers on it, we can do this for £17 per lever. We can also supply levers for £14 each if you’re feeling brave and want to fit them yourself.
Please contact us to find out more or enquire about different lever configurations.

Once you’ve been playing a while, or if you come to the harp with knowledge of other instruments, you may want the flexibility and convenience of levers on your harp.
We use industry-standard Camac levers. They raise the note a precise semitone with a smooth action and no buzzing or dampening of the sound.
Choose which levers to have on your harp depending on your needs and budget. As an example, a partially levered harp with levers on the Cs, Fs and Bs allows you to easily switch between the major keys of C, G, D and F (and their relative minors). This covers most folk music!
