Harp Hire Terms and Conditions

Hire subject to availability. Minimum hire term 3 months for harp hire. Cancel at any time for the online course.

After 1 year of hire you can choose to buy the harp for 75% of the retail price

After 2 years of hire you can choose to buy the harp for 50% of the retail price

After 3 years of hire simply forfeit your deposit and you own the harp!

We also pro-rata this discount so, for example, if you decide to buy the harp after hiring it for 6 months then you get 12.5% off.

You agree to pay the amount specified for the service you’ve ordered each month until such time that you either buy the harp, cancel the subscription, or have hired it for 3 years. After 3 years’ hire, you own the harp.

To cancel harp hire you must return the harp to us and either cancel through the “my account” section of the site or notify us via email to info@handsonharps.com.

If you choose BACS payment then you must set up a standing order of the appropriate amount and maintain it until either 3 years have passed with a payment made each month or you have either bought the harp or cancelled the service in the way described above.

If you choose to pay via bank card or PayPal then it is your responsibility to ensure that ongoing payments are made and update your payment details when required (for example when your bank card expires) until either 3 years have passed with a payment made each month or you have either bought the harp or cancelled the service in the way described above.

Hands on Harps reserves the right to charge a late fee of 1% per month for payments made late. Knowing that everyone makes mistakes from time to time, we will only enforce this after we have reminded you of late payments and given you a further 7 days to make them.

Hiring a harp from us gives you £10 off the monthly cost of a subscription to our video harp lesson course.

The stated deposit for the harp hire is required, refunded to you on the return of the harp in good condition to our workshop in Woodchester or deductible if you choose to buy the harp. You agree to pay for postage and packaging (at the current rate) or return it yourself.  The P&P is required up front for us to send the harp to you within the UK. Overseas delivery prices available on request.

We will send out replacements for any broken strings during hire. Send us an email or call us and we’ll post them to you.

You may choose to get musical instrument insurance to cover accidental damage to the harp, otherwise you agree to pay for any accidental damage, loss or theft yourself, up to the purchase price of the harp on the date you started renting it, subject to any applicable discounts mentioned above.  If a defect in materials or workmanship arises under conditions of normal and proper use of the harp (fair wear and tear excepted), the harp will be replaced or repaired at the expense of Hands on Harps.
