Should I get Levers on my Harp?
Levers on a harp act like the first fret on a guitar-when engaged, they raise the note of that string by a semitone. A harp without levers is restricted to the key of C major-the white notes on a piano. We can put partial levers on a harp, for example, on the B, C and F strings. This enables you to switch between the major keys of C, D, F and G, which covers a lot of folk music. Or we can put full levers on.

A partially levered harp is £36.00 per month or £1,040.00 to purchase.
A fully levered harp is £41.00 per month or £1,260.00 to purchase.

Should you include online tuition?
Our Hobby Harpers Online Course is half price at £10 per month for anyone who has purchased or is renting a harp.
With it, you’ll learn a new tune each week. Each tune has a beginner, intermediate and advanced level, so you can choose which level you’re comfortable at.
While it is possible to do the online course with an unlevered harp, this will mean that you need to retune certain strings to play in different keys. Trust me, unless you’re very experienced at tuning, or incredibly patient, this will be a headache.
A partially levered harp will suffice for all of the tunes that we teach on the course. If you want full flexibility to play in any key, then you need a fully levered harp.
